Library receives donation
for new flagpole

A generous donation from the estate of former library board member Anne Hollenbeck has provided a 25-foot flagpole in front of the library building.  While Ms. Hollenbeck placed no restrictions on her gift, board members felt it appropriate to fulfill her long-standing wish that a flag be flying in front of the library.

Before the monthly Board of Trustees meeting on July 7, 2005, board members, library staff, and members of the American Legion participated in a flag raising ceremony at the library. After Chester Kordahl and Herb St. Mary of the American Legion raised the flag for the first time, those present said the Pledge of Allegiance.

A plaque (shown below) was mounted by the flagpole to recognize Ms. Hollenbeck's contributions to the library through her service and her gifts.
